This Is It
For those of you interested, here is my ultimate semester course lineup. It is funny how nostalgic I got during my last semester at OBU. Right now, less nostalgia and more interest in the next stop. Anyway, here it is:
The Doctrine of Justification> I chose this one for the reading list. Luther, Ritschl, Barth, etc. We are not going to be reading about them, we are going to be reading them.
Post-Liberal Theology> Excuse me while I go postal. Not to be confused with "post-modern" theology. Yuck.
The Theology and Ethics of Reinhold & H. Richard Niebuhr> Love them or hate them, no theologian has been as influential in America as these two. Just ask your pastor about Reinhold.
The Crucifixion and Resurrection of Christ> "There is that wily Jesus fellow! I hoped he was gonna take something about Jesus while at seminary." I am going to be glad I took this during Lent and Holy Week.
That is all. Shorter than usual. Quality over quantity. And I only need 12 hours to graduate. If you think I am lazy, my wife is taking a course on microeconomics and will be schooling me in something I know nothing about. Oh yeah, and we will be moving in June. And we don't know where. That'll keep me busy enough.

postal! What a knee slapper! Wasn't 12 hours all you needed your last semester at OBU too? Or did you only take 12 hours every semester when you were there? All I can remember is that pain of jealousy in my side while carrying 18+ hours myself. Those classes sound pretty interesting. 'Bout time you had an actual class about Jesus at the seminary.
Good stuff. By the way, if you decide you want a break from school and are interested in doing college ministry, let me know. Thought you'd be interested in this, too; your boy Hauerwas gives a shout out to Derek Webb here: http://www.derekwebb.com/news/article/13.
