This Is It

For those of you interested, here is my ultimate semester course lineup. It is funny how nostalgic I got during my last semester at OBU. Right now, less nostalgia and more interest in the next stop. Anyway, here it is:

The Doctrine of Justification> I chose this one for the reading list. Luther, Ritschl, Barth, etc. We are not going to be reading about them, we are going to be reading them.

Post-Liberal Theology> Excuse me while I go postal. Not to be confused with "post-modern" theology. Yuck.

The Theology and Ethics of Reinhold & H. Richard Niebuhr> Love them or hate them, no theologian has been as influential in America as these two. Just ask your pastor about Reinhold.

The Crucifixion and Resurrection of Christ> "There is that wily Jesus fellow! I hoped he was gonna take something about Jesus while at seminary." I am going to be glad I took this during Lent and Holy Week.

That is all. Shorter than usual. Quality over quantity. And I only need 12 hours to graduate. If you think I am lazy, my wife is taking a course on microeconomics and will be schooling me in something I know nothing about. Oh yeah, and we will be moving in June. And we don't know where. That'll keep me busy enough.

Help This Guy Out!

I am slowly yet surely dropping of the Southern Baptist radar screen, but many of you are not.

OK, just a few of you perhaps.

But some of you are still SBCer's.
And if you are, help this guy out. He seems level-headed and genuine to me. And he is getting blasted for communicating via blog about his opinions as an Internationa Mission Board trustee.

Yeah, now I know I have you SBC-friends-of-mine's attention.

Vote at the upcoming Convention, send a letter, talk with your pastor, protest, organize, whatever it is you do. And, you know who you are; and yes, I am talking to you.

It's All Done

After two of the most grueling weeks of my academic career, I am pleased to announce that it is all done. Every application deadline met, every road-trip and plane-trip taken, every assignment turned in, and every paper written.

Now I get my vacation: one week off. And it will be the last week off until graduation.

Graduation? Graduation! No way, couldn't be.

I am gonna have to go see that registrar.
